Q: How does membership work?
A: Admins can add individual members or Groups to a space.
Q: What are Groups?
A: Groups are a new way of organising people that we’re introducing alongside Spaces. When creating a Group, you'll be able to easily import members from an existing Audience, so you don't need to rebuild from scratch.
Q: What are Rules?
A: Rules will be added to Groups to automate membership, similar to how Smart Audiences work today. For example, you’ll be able to add people to a Group based on criteria such as “everyone who has the job title Consultant” or even “everyone in x Audience” in order to re-use already built Audiences. This will allow Groups to scale easily and ensure membership stays up to date automatically. A key improvement over today’s Audiences is flexibility: with Groups, you’ll be able to combine manual membership with Rule-based membership in the same Group. That means you can add individuals directly while also letting Rules handle the bulk of automation.
Q: Can Groups (and Rules) be reused outside of Spaces?
A: Groups and Rules are scoped only to Spaces.
Q: How do members join a Space?
A: Members can only be added manually by an Admin.
Q: Can members leave a Space?
A: Members cannot leave private Spaces, as they’ve been deliberately added by an admin. For public Spaces, however, members will be able to leave whenever they choose.
